Every client and dog relationship is unique!
When you picked up your puppy the first time, it was probably love at first hug. The next thing you know, you have a biting, excited, energetic bundle of fur on your hands. What are you going to do?
This is where we can come in and help you set a great foundation of socialization, management and manners for your furry friend. By starting as soon as you get your puppy, you are setting yourself and your puppy up for a much happier and less frustrating puppyhood.
We also love it when potential new puppy parents contact us even before you get that new fur baby. We can help you get ready and know what to expect with this new ball of fur coming into your home.
Does your puppy...
Bite you like a chew toy
Jump on your guests
Steal food off the counter
Chew your shoes
Pull non-stop on the leash
Get distracted by everything
Is afraid of new things
After training your puppy will.....
Be able to recognize when they bite too hard
Sit nicely and wait to be greeted
Keep four feet on the floor
Be able to leave your items alone
Walk nicely on leash
Able to focus on you
Have more confidence and socialization
The sooner you start your puppy training journey the easier that journey becomes. You are able to head off bad behavior before it gets started, while creating good behavior in your puppy. Often times, owners wait until their puppy is exhibiting bad behavior before investigating training options.
The period between 3 and 16 weeks is the "critical period" where socialization and introduction of your puppy to novel/new people, items, animals, textures, sounds, handling, etc... help a puppy navigate the rest of their life with tools that help them in this great big world. We can do this safely while they finish their vaccination program but it is important to start as this is a short window of an incredibly important time in your puppies life. NOTE: Socialization is NOT just introducing your puppy to other dogs! Socialization does go beyond this period, essentially your dog's entire life but this is our best opportunity to build great experiences with our young puppy just entering a big new world.
You might have never had a puppy and are not sure what to do or someone that has not had a puppy in a long time and are like "oh goodness, my puppy is a wild, biting, jumping bean, what do I do?"
What you get out of this, is a puppy that has the foundation to become a GREAT dog for you and your family.
This is where we come in and help you with everything puppy. Why your puppy does what they do, how to work with your puppy to build skill using positive training methods that are reward based and fun.

Let's get started today!
Puppy training should begin once you get your puppy. For those puppies that don't yet have all of their vaccines, they still need training. Once a puppy reaches four months they have finished going through one of the most important periods of their lives. Socialization is MOST IMPORTANT at this point. We start puppies that have at least 1 set of vaccines with private lessons. I am able to recommend a few local puppy classes that are focused on socialization and foundation skills when needed.
Private Lessons allow us to come to your home, teach you how to socialize your puppy, introduce novel items for your puppy, begin the foundations of training like; charging the marker, setting a release word, focus, sit, down, etc...
We have private lesson packages of 8 or 10 designed with your puppy in mind. There is so much to cover with puppies that we do not start any puppy with a package less than an 8 session package. These sessions are 45 minutes to minimize overwhelming the puppy brain.
Once initial training has been started, you can also get your puppy into a manners class that will take the concepts in private training and help your puppy be able to practice what they have learned in a fun group environment with other dogs and people.
We have group class packages of 6 and 12 sessions that would be great additional training to help develop a happy and well adjusted puppy.
